maybe that was it, not sure, if it plays up, i'll be asking for a HH4, if not, i'll probably buy something else
I wonder if BT will alow you to start the £35 deal early and also be allowed to pay it in full instead of 3 months.
Did you just plug you home hub into a switcher and the computer to the switcher and then your network into the switcher also
Don't know why they don't use 1gig ports
My network is as follows.
Modem connects to HomeHub 4 via 10 meter cat 6 ethernet to the Gigabit WAN port, as the Modem is under the TV near the phone socket and the Hub is too wide to have it where I had my Hub 3.
Hub 4 then connects to an 8port gigabit switch via another 10 meter cat 6 ethernet as the switch is under TV next to the modem.
Connected to the 8 port switch are:
Sky+HD main box
Sky+HD multiroom box via powerline adapters
Lan 2 of the openreach modem as this has been hacked so i can access the web interface and view my stats.
My iPhone 4S
Wifes iPhone 5
Connected via USB port to back of Hub
320GB external hard drive with 50GB formatted in Fat 32 for wireless access, HomeHubs cant read other formats, the rest of the drive is formatted in Macintosh format.
Nothing else is connected to any of the other lan ports and everything wired goes through the Gigabit switch under the TV.
Hope this helps.
not bad, here's mine
ASUS RT-N66U into modem (2 ports used so can access the modem from network without disconnecting from internet)
From here this is routed to 2 switches and another router
Switch 1 - Under TV - 5 port 1GHZ
PCH-C200 (media box)
Switch 2 - Upstairs - 8 port 1 GHZ
