Re-contracted but P2P still being throttled

Hi, I am on Infinity Option 2 and I called to cancel BT to cancel as I was sick of being throttled. They said if I re-contracted I would be moved to a package that has no throttling. I agreed, and my activation was 14 March 2013

The website says my order is now complete, but I am still being throttled.

I spent ages on the phone with useless tech support who did not even know what traffic shaping was! Ridiculous.

They are insisting that I am now on the new package. What has happened?

The website says I am on BT Infinity Option 2 - Totally unlimited

Many thanks

Re: Re-contracted but P2P still being throttled

You need to wait 5 days for the throttling to be removed, you should see it removed by the 19th.

Re: Re-contracted but P2P still being throttled

To get unthrottled P2P I didn't re contract I just turned transport encytption on to RC4 level. Downloads hit 7MB(56Mb) and upload got up to 2.2MB (17Mb) today.

There are many ways to not get throttled but they carry risks.

How does mine carry risk? BT see the traffic as encypted so don't throttle it. Unless you mean stuff like VPN's
