I recently changed from Sky to BT Infinity and installed the BT Home Hub 5 router. On connecting my devices the router did not recognise the ReadyNas Duo drive. The ReadyNas Duo drive has a static IP address assigned of 192.168.0.3. The DCHP Network Range was set to the default range 192.168.1.64 - 192.168.1.253 so I configured it manually and changed the range to 192.168.0.2 - 192.168.1.253. If I click on devices the NAS drive is showing as connected with the correct IP address and yet I cannot see it on Windows Explorer and I get a negative response if I try to ping it. I cannot change the configuration of the NAS drive as I cannot get to it. I need to get to the NAS drive as it contains all my music, family photos and backups. Can anybody help?
Have you re-assigned the hub address to be the same as the Gateway address configured in the NAS (or changed the gateway on the NAS to match the hub address)? I would also change the DHCP range of the hub to be 192.168.0.64-192.168.0.253 so the NAS is outside of the DHCP range.
Yes it finds the Duo and all lights are green but the Setup and Browse buttons are greyed out.
I would suspect that you would have to reset the device, and then set it up for a new IP address.
Try these settings. Do not reformat the disk, otherwise you will lose everything.
IP address 192.168.1.50
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway 192.168.1.254
DNS Server 192.168.1.254
If RAIDar finds the Duo, what IP adress does it show?
Also, do you have a software firewall? Is it set to allow this IP address? If you're using McAfee it's under "Firewall / My network connections""
OK I have a similar problem here. Did OP get anywhere?
Router DHCP range 192.168.1.64-192.168.1.253
I've set REadyNAS to static 192.168.1.50
Raidar confirms this.
Subnet (255.255.255.0) and default gateway (192.168.1.254) are correct in ReadyNAS.
FWIW, on the ReadyNAS:
1 WINS server is OFF.
2 DHCPv4 is ON.
Anyone shed any light? Thanks!
