Yeah it would be goog to know how sky performs in comparison, I can't see it being any worse.
Below is 1 PC streaming 1 Overwatch twitch channel while I ping the same Overwatch server, peaks of 50ms, not sure what to think of this, it's certainly not consistent. The question would be how would it perform for a live stream of Overwatch, watching a few streams of Overwatch I could see their Overwatch ping showing 50ms ish but their stream was smooth, no dropped framses or lag. Although live streaming would make use of the upload speed. I guess if I had 1 PC watching a twitch stream and another doing netflix I might be in for a bad gaming time. As I've said I don't think my connection is perfect or rock solid - it works to a point I can game on it, which was the main problem before.
From what I've seen it doesn't really matter what the destination IP address is, I've just used the Overwatch IP address to be consistent and so no one can argue "oh the ping's different because it's a different test / destination". Not that I'm seeing a single post from anyone from BT arguing about the results.
Even pinging a destination in UK shows the the problem and as I've found the ping spikes happen really early in the route so that's no surprise but still laughable that BT can't even maintain a decent ping in the same country.
@Mighten82 your pings are so bad I'm kind of lost for words to describe them, online gaming with pings like that would just be a joke but apparently your connection is "perfect for gaming".
Here's a comparable setup to BT "superfast fibre" broadband, UK tech at it's best.
