One of my two Infinity connections has recently dropped from 10MB to 650KB upload speed. Download has dropped slightly but is still around 30MB
BT changed wall socket and reset line. Was OK for 24 hours and has now reverted to slow
The engineer does not want to talk about the fact that if I try to force it to connect on PPP0E it will not connect. It only connects on PPP0A. Also I have a 172. address in the DNS gateway which is rather odd. Strikes me the exachnage thinks its gone back to adsl.
Has anyone seen anything similar?

I am lucky to hit a 1mbit upload speeds now, not the 17 you`d expect with those stats... used to be OK but since I`ve had this odd traffic/port specific problems on d/l (waiting for a call back Monday on that) the u/l speed has been pants too.
Really no idea what is happening on the backend but clearly BT/Openreach are playing around with something at least at my exchange (Yaxley)
Don`t want to hijack someone elses thread but yes that is the village near P'boro.... me being in the even more 'ittle village of Stilton serviced by that exchange 🙂
Thanks for that. I was curious as my Son is linked to the Yaxley exchange but does not currently have SFBB available.
But since you are actually in Stilton you were covered by BT's existing commercial roll-out.
We were one of the first to get it which was great.... and so it was for many years (don`t talk vectoring as small village) until someone fiddled with a cables at the exchange and now all has gone to pot.... so it was, India helpdesk did state that all was fine so therefore it must be 🙂
Sorry Patkins, I think this is probably still related to your original thread. It is something at exchange, mine or yours not really important, that is causing these u/l and d/l bad stats. I assume you get the same blanket reply for the "helpdesk" (I use that term somewhat loose as it is reading a script)
Carry out a factory reset of the homehub by pressing a pin into the recess button on the rear for about 20 seconds. After it has restarted can you use this speed tester then carry out the further diagnostics and post back a screen shot of all the results including your IP profile for up and down. This test must be done with a wired connection.
If you have a Homehub 5 can you also post the stats from 1-12 by logging onto the homehub management pages then troubleshooting > helpdesk. http://bthomehub.home/

Do it with that speedtester for sure. then do it with thinkbroadbands one as it does the secure/non-secure.... they should be the same but you get to really see what is happening.
Yes synthetic test but when you can't even load pictures from a website but can over secure VPN then it becomes real 🙂
I appreciate that but also know but it doesn`t tell a true story as I am sure you are also aware.
As stated they`ll not accept those stats as real but if you have a VPN connection at hand then you, like me, can prove that at a site-for-site level it is totally different via someone elses gateway (but still via same BT network - as that is where the tunnel goes)

Col 1 is 'normal traffic', col 2 is secure traffic - I can verify that this does really reflect on real-world user experience and speeds.
