Recording a subscription (internet) channel and watching another changed?

Has something changed with being able to record 1 channel and watch another?

Have the BT you view humax 4K-UHD box. Had it about 3 years now.
In the past have been able to record something on say History channel and then watch BT sport.
more record 2 subscription/internet channels and watch freeview.
But this seems to have changed?

So for example this evening, was watching champions league on BT sport 2 when at 9 a scheduled recording on History channel started. I immediately get a message saying I can’t watch BT sport as recording has started - I was only able to switch over to a freeview channel.
I tried the BT chat function but they’re telling me that’s right - you can’t watch another subscription channel whilst recording one...but we always have done up until today. What’s changed?
Anyone else have this issue?

If you can record 2 subscription channels whilst can’t you watch one and record one anymore?

Re: Recording a subscription (internet) channel and watching another changed?

I've had the same issue trying to watch Sky Atlantic while recording on another subscription channel. When I instead set the Atlantic programme to record that worked fine. So if you can record 2 channels I don't see why they've changed it so that you can't record 1 and watch another.

w2pixel - what set top box do you have and what ISP configuration number in the settings, software info  page?

I've got a T2100 and my ISP is 2001303.

I'm wondering if the issue is the one mentioned in another thread where the First recording of a series scheduled link records the same episode twice.

Re: Recording a subscription (internet) channel and watching another changed?

I have read about that in another thread where the box thinks it’s recording 2 subscription/internet channels which is why it won’t let you watch another - even though it’s only recording 1.

We’ve always been able to record a channel and watch another. This is a recent change but when j spoke to bt support they’re telling me I’m wrong and you’ve never been able to record 1 subscription channel and watch another - when that’s not true!

Re: Recording a subscription (internet) channel and watching another changed?

This is the issue I raised in my thread -

https://community.bt.com/t5/YouView-from-BT/Problem-with-scheduled-recordings-on-internet-channels/m...

I never had this problem before the Now TV changes & before I had ultra HD box, so maybe something has broken?

You can definitely record 2 internet channels at once, try it without doing a series link & it should work.

Thanks for your feedback and detailed information.

We are aware of this issue, and other recording issues, and are investigating as a priority.

Apologies for the inconvenience caused.

Thanks

I saw this issue last night.  Watching BT Sport when a scheduled recording on Discovery HD started.  The box immediately switched channel.

@ledgie Was this a new series linked programme and was it HD. Just trying to work out if it is only certain scenarios or everything.

i.e. Is it only a first HD IP recording set for a series or is it more widespread

@scointer Yes, on this occasion it was a new series linked programme in HD.
