Recovering Mailboxes

If there a way to recover Mailboxes?  I would like to know how to do this incase I accidently delete one in the future.  I deleted one today but wasn't too important

Re: Recovering Mailboxes

Do you actually mean mailbox, i.e an email address, or do you mean a folder within your email page?

Re: Recovering Mailboxes

Apologies for not being clear.  I mean a folder within my email page.  I have checked in Archive and Trash and there are no emails so just want to make sure that any future deletions are kept safe and would rather check now how to do this.

Re: Recovering Mailboxes

Deleting the folder would just have moved the whole folder to  the Trash folder and you should be able to restore it.

Have just looked in there and its empty.  Is there a setting I can check?

Re: Recovering Mailboxes

No, there are no settings.

When you clicked on the 'X' to delete the folder, you should have had a warning saying 'Do you want to move <folder name> to Trash'  with Yes and No buttons.

Re: Recovering Mailboxes

I dont recall seeing that option (I deleted the mailbox on my phone).  I can set up a 'fake' mailbox and delete it and see if it asks that.  I have also checked the 'bin' and 'trash' and 'deleted'.

Re: Recovering Mailboxes

Ah, ok. I assumed you deleted it in webmail.

All bets are off if you deleted it in an app. You will need to check what the settings are for the app, it may have deleted the folder immediately. Which app are you using and Android or iPhone?

I'm using iphone, have a mac, but also looked in webmail and no sign of deleted emails there either.

Re: Recovering Mailboxes

Sorry, I'm Android so can't help with Apple stuff. How long ago did you delete the folder, the default time to empty trash is 30 days on webmail but your mail app may be set differently and permanently deleted it from the Trash folder after a much shorter time or even immediately. You need to check the mail app settings.
