You can set it up however you wish, I think that the article was only suggesting that, to save having to remember two passwords Smiley Wink

Re: Repeated slowing down of BB speeds requiring hub reboot

Hi gterry,

You have a very good sync speed (the connection speed between your local exchange and your router/homehub) of 1.906 Mbps bearing in mind that your Line attenuation is about 66dB which would make your line approx. 4.8km long.

I also have about the same line attenuation as you but your broadband sync rate is slightly better than mine.

my stats below:

Line state:Connected
Connection time:1 days, 21:06:19
Downstream:1.75 Mbps
Upstream:448 Kbps

ADSL Settings
VPI/VCI:0/38
Type:PPPoA
Modulation:G.992.1 Annex A
Latency type:Interleaved
Noise margin (Down/Up):5.2 dB / 10.0 dB
Line attenuation (Down/Up):66.2 dB / 31.5 dB
Output power (Down/Up):17.0 dBm / 12.4 dBm
FEC Events (Down/Up):42210 / 1916
CRC Events (Down/Up):204 / 163
Loss of Framing (Local/Remote):0 / 0
Loss of Signal (Local/Remote):0 / 0
Loss of Power (Local/Remote):0 / 0
HEC Events (Down/Up):1114 / 117
Error Seconds (Local/Remote):123 / 86

I was also thinking of improving my wireless connection around the house (as it's an old stone house with thick walls) and the information that Keith_Beddoe has provided is excellent.

Hope you get your wireless connection sorted.

Cheers
