Hi,
I'm in need of help 🙂
I've recently bought a TP Link Archer C50 to replace the BT home hub, it's around 4 years old and the signal is just awful. I followed the router set up instructions but the quick-setup says 'WAN is not connected' bit it 100% is. Have a bought the incorrect router for the job? the connection comes from the wall, into a splitter (ADSL?) and from there into the router/bt home hub.
Thanks! Sy

Wrong one I'm afraid. It's only a router so needs a modem to connect to the internet.
You need one that's an ADSL/VDSL modem/router link the TP-Link TD-W9970 or VR400.
Hi Tim,
I thought that might be the case... is this the one?
TP-Link 300 Mbps Wireless N VDSL/ADSL Modem Router, Support Modem Only Mode, 1 USB, 2.0 Port, UK Plug (TD-W9970)

Indeed it is one of the 2 I mentioned. I think it's very good value , has useful features & I know @Keith_Beddoe rates it quite highly. Keith is one of the resident experts on here, especially (but not exclusively) on TP-Link related topics.
I think the main thing it lacks is 5Ghz wifi if that's important to you.
It will be fine.
