Re: Request for Mod help for checking my profile.

Unfortunately the connection is still dropping, so I think it may be time for an engineer. Excuse the formatting.

Re: Request for Mod help for checking my profile.

Have you tried the quiet line test dial 17070 option 2 you should hear no noise if you can hear noise then it needs reporting to BT faults on 151 with no mention of broadband in the call

Re: Request for Mod help for checking my profile.

Hi John
Thanks for the reply.
I have tried the quiet line test and dint hear any noise.
The last time I performed this was last week, as I didn't want anymore disconnections to my line as I would have to take access the test socket.

Strange as it seems, this connection is only used by the Xbox using a wired connection and nothing else, and generally the connection isn't being used when it drops.

Re: Request for Mod help for checking my profile.

You should really leave a phone connected at all times and use it occasionally as it can clear many broadband faults such as high resistance joints which cause broadband problems

Re: Request for Mod help for checking my profile.

Hi John
Since last week a phone is connected and I do dial 17070 for quiet line test (as it's free) every other day.
When I had my draytek connected I also had a thinkbroadband ping graph running and this showed 0 packet loss and no evidence of REIN.

I have noticed the ipv6 address change several times a day though, and not sure if this is normal. The ipv4 address only changes after a drop of connection

Re: Request for Mod help for checking my profile.

Looking at the stats, facts, snr's and quiet line result .... I'd say your connection maybe suffers above average levels of crosstalk, specifically on the upstream metallic path. If that is the case there's nothing you can really do, but DLM will constantly pay attention and drop the con logically and adjust interleave depth accordingly. It doesn't happen so much on the downstream path as probably (although I can't tell from the stats) G.INP will be running, and it doesn't upwards. If it were mine I'd just leave it and see if it settles (eventually). What DLM does best is to logically try different scenarios to give you the best it can ... but it also (using connection history) "knows" it's maybe tried it before, and eventually it will come to rest .... unless of course the line conditions change either way. The interleave levels are quite profound, and will add some latency but 30msecs is not unusual..

Re: Request for Mod help for checking my profile.

Thanks Roger
I'm connected to an ECI cabinet. Not sure if G.INP now works on ECI?

In all honestly if I get some speed back and the latency drops back to the way it was I can put up just over 40mbps.

Re: Request for Mod help for checking my profile.

Looks like a DLM caused resync, speed up 4meg.

Just leave the connection alone for a few weeks. DLM is doing its thing.
