Requesting extension to pay bill

Have been on the phone this afternoon, trying to speak to an agent about a 4 day extension to pay our phone and broadband bill. After numerous dead ends via automated robots I get put through, where I wait for what must have been an hour until I gave up. I normally use the chat facility but that seems to have vanished. 

No doubt if I'm a few minutes late paying my bill, BT will be on to it like a shot.

Hi chirpy83, I'm really sorry about the waiting time when you called we're really busy at the moment, did you manage to get this sorted?

Hi Neil, yes I did thank you for asking. I went on to my smart phone and the chat facility was active on there. Take care.
