Re: Resetting my Noise Margin after recent fault please

if the noise margin changes automatically the hub will restart automatically if there are no changes then you will need the mods assistance to reset manually but 3 days stable first as they need to see 3 days before they will reset it

Only partially true .... noise margins can and do change all day and night without hubs restarting.

They would only restart when a pulse check from DLM checks the line parameters to check sync/error rate/INP

and sees that a forced auto reset by DLM benefits a "significant" linespeed upgrade.

The only other time is during the 10day line training for the purpose of establishing the MSR.

Best practice is to monitor SNRm coming down .... and force a reset in daylight everytime you gain 2db.

But not at night, as margin erodes.

MSANs run fulltime line management on all connections, plus one pulse once every 24 hours to "check things over".

If the line has problems, (banding) or high noise margin, it will pulse more, and give the line "attention"

but not necessarily a reset.
