We have put together a short survey to capture your feedback in terms of what BT can do when you experience home Wi-Fi issues. We would appreciate it if you could take a couple of minutes to complete a short survey. Read more from here, Fix my home Wi-Fi
I've had BT infinity for about 2 weeks now, while I am getting a nice 6.5MBps down (not the 70-80 advertised) the general browsing speeds are poor. And especially bad on wifi.
I get lots of hanging on my iphones and ipad, even something as simply as refreshing the email inbox presents a spinning circle for 5-10 seconds. Come on.
Watching youtube with breakfast this morning I was getting buffering on a 5 minute video! Also all youtube videos are defaulting to the worst possible quality (not even 480p), which indicates the wifi speed is dreadful. I should not be having buffering issues on infinity 2. My old 17mb internet handled Youtube fine.
I even resorted to changing the DNS things on the devices to googles 18.104.22.168. I ran a thing on my PC [I'm wired on my computer] to detirmine the best DNS possible which I did. PC speed is fine, but still not as good as I would like. The DNS changes on the devices didn't really change anything.
What gives? I enquired about my general download speed 2 weeks ago (I assumed 7MBs/8Mbs down was what I would be getting). So i've done all of the socket tests and etc etc.
Please help 🙂
Can you post your helpdesk data from the HH5 please? These are in Troubleshooting/Helpdesk on the web interface at http://192.168.1.254 or http://bthomehub.home
Please miss out any data you don't want to post

6.5MB/s (Megabytes Per Second) corresponds to 52Mbs (52 Megabits per Second), which is not too bad for a wireless connection.
You are unlikely to get the full 70-80 Mbs over wireless.
