Re: Router Query

No. The router you mention has four LAN ports as well as wifi.

Re: Router Query

No. It would be a router. It would handle your wireless and Ethernet connections.

Re: Router Query

Have a look at the Asus DSL n66u, Billion 8800nl and the Draytek 2760n. If you read the reviews each has its own pros and cons. I am expecting to get infinity later this year and I'm still undecided which of those to go for.

Re: Router Query

Have had a look at the routers mentioned but like the sound of the hg612.my only concern is how easy is it to set up to use my existing router? Also is infinity2 VDSL or vdsl2?

Re: Router Query

Infinity is VDSL2.  It is easy to set up your router. You need to go into the routers management pages and change the settings. It needs to be a PPPoE connection and the username needed is bthomehub@btbroadband.com If it asks for a password you can use anything.

Re: Router Query

Just connect the WAN port on the Netgear to the modem and then set up as GG says, should be very straightforward.
