Re: Router Query

Ok i've found this, how do i change the ethernet settings on windows 8?The default IP address of the HG612 is 192.168.1.1 with line Statistics information being obtained via the LAN2 port.
In order for your computer to “see” the HG612 on your network they both must be on the same subnet (i.e. have an address of the form 192.168.1.x). In addition another device on the network may not have the same IP address as the HG612 (i.e. by default 192.168.1.1).
If your router provides IP addresses on another subnet (e.g. 192.168.0.x) or has 192.168.1.1 as its address the HG612 will need configuring to change its IP. You will need to log into the HG612 using its default 192.168.1.1 address and change it to something suitable for your network:  Directly connect LAN2 on the HG612 to your Ethernet port on the computer  Manually set your Ethernet port on the computer to 192.168.1.100 with Subnet mask 255.255.255.0  Using a browser go to http://192.168.1.1 (the HG612)  Log into the HG612 using admin/admin as the Username/Password  Select BASIC -> LAN from the left hand side of the screen  Under “LAN Host Settings” change the “IP address” from 192.168.1.1 to a value valid in your subnet and not already in use e.g. 192.168.0.128 (if your router has an address of 192.168.0.1 and provides IP addresses of the form 192.168.0.x)  Click the Submit button in the “LAN Host Settings” section.
You will now no longer be able to access the HG612 until the Ethernet port on your computer has been reconfigured to automatically get an IP from your router.  Connect LAN2 on the HG612 to your router  Connect your computer to your router  Set your Ethernet port on the computer to “Obtain an IP address automatically”
Now you should be able to connect to the HG612 Web Interface using a browser by using the address you changed it to (e.g. 192.168.0.128) or its default address (192.168.1.1) if you did not change the default settings.
