The dark web apparently has a list of all BT router wireless passwords
Indeed it has, all 36^10 of them.
Most who have replierd are either just dismissive or seem to just want to add to their ridiculous post count rather than discuss a potential massive flaw in BT's password allocation.
You all are obviously all engineering experts.
You all are obviously all engineering experts. - are you???
you have no idea the qualifications of anyone else
just reset the password to something you think is more secure and be done with it - most people reset it anyway so it is something they can remember
You are the one who says there is a flaw based upon what one person telling you.
It would therefore be incumbent of you or your professional security chap to back up and prove this assertion with some facts. If you or he are unable to do that then it is just an assertion.
Until you or he can do that there is nothing to discuss.
just to add to the difficulty the HH6 default has 12 not 10 in the wireless password

Do you seriously think that this wouldn't be all over the press if it were true? Please post some proof of this assertion, not just some hearsay.
All very useful answers, many thanks for all the really interesting replies.
I sleep just fine thanks...great reply
Thank you for the entertainment
hope you have now managed to set a secure password
Has your "professional security chap" given you any proof of his assertion yet so that we can challenge BT and inform everybody including the IT press and the general press about BT's statement "'We don't recommend changing the password because the one we give you is already very secure. "
If he hasn't yet please post back as soon as he does because that would be a very serious issue which I am surprised they are not already aware of or perhaps they are colluding with BT to cover it up, who knows.
