Hello; hope all are safe and well.
We have Fibre 2 at home - we need to replace the router with an unlocked/open one.
The one we have from BT is "Smart Hub 2" and want an unlocked one to replace it.
Please can you advise which is a very good one that is compatible?
Thank you very much.
M.
That is like asking if somebody can recommend a car. Only you know your requirements and any VDSL modem/router will work. Have a look at the TP Link or Asus ranges for a device that meets your needs. Post back with the prospective choice for confirmation it is suitable if you wish.

Hi nearly any router with a WAN ethernet port should work fine. I use an Edgerouter 4 with Unifi Access Points, all good..
Err no, for Fibre 2 a VDSL modem/router is required.
Thank you very much.
Let me share relevant pictures as well; so all can see what is there.
No option for attachments here; so here goes:
Take care.
So you haven't got fibre2, you have full fibre (FTTP) in which case you only need a router with a WAN port as @@Kielty23 says, rather than a VDSL modem/router
Why have you connected the DSL socket on the hub when you have FTTP?
I just wish BT would name products sensibly and call them by the technology they use!! As far as I'm aware, FTTP products are called Full Fibre xxxx, but they've probably changed it again this week.
