SIM card help required

I have a SIM only mobile contract with BT.

My smartphone is currently a Samsung Galaxy J3 (6) which uses the micro SIM sized card.

This phone has a limited storage capacity of only 8GB so I am looking to obtain a SIM-free replacement, for example, Samsung A21S (32GB storage) or a Samsung A41 (64GB storage).

However both of these devices require a nano SIM card.

If I recall correctly the SIM card package supplied by BT allowed for all three sizes of card so I assume that I can take the micro SIM from my current J3(6) phone and “break out” the nano SIM from the micro SIM and fit to the new phone when I get it.

Can you confirm that this the correct procedure? Also will I need to "activate" the SIM in the new phone even though it has been in use for several years in my current phone?

Re: SIM card help required

You should be able to 'break out' the nano sim and use in new phone

why don't you use a micro sd card to increase storage capacity?

Re: SIM card help required

I fitted a 64GB SD card  a while ago which I use for photo storage etc , but according to the "Device Storage" details on the phone about 3.5GB is used for the operating system (Android 5.1) and about 4.1GB for Apps.........and despite my best efforts searching for information as to "why", it appears that I cannot move any of the Apps to the SD card......the "move to SD card" option is greyed-out in every instance!!!!.

The limited storage space remaining often means I cannot update Apps that I use as I get "not enough space" messages when trying to do so.

Re: SIM card help required

I know what you are talking about as had that with a phone I had few years ago. Really annoying but thankfully my phone has 128gb internal storage backed up with 128gb micro SD card
