Samsung TV keeps losing connection

Hi everyone

I have bought two Samsung T24H390S Smart TV for my girls for Christmas and am experiencing issues with WiFi connection.

Both connect wirelessly with ease, but upon turning off then back on they often disconnect from the WiFi. Easily rectified by just going into network settings and reconnecting, but impossible for the girls to do themselves.

I’ve trawled the forum and noticed static IP addresses and manually adding DNS details, both I’ve tried and doesn’t seem to help. I’m using a HH4 at present and wondering whether this is a hub issue or the TV issue.

More likely just wireless issues. If they are dual band wireless, then try separating and renaming the SSIDs.

You could also try a different wireless channel on the HH4, channel 13 is often clear.

Wireless is not the most reliable way to connect smart TVs.

The alternative would be to use broadband extenders, if running an Ethernet cable is not possible.

I assume that you set two different static IP addresses on the TVs, eg.  192.168.1.50 and 192.168.1.51?

Hi Keith

Thank you for replying, you helped enormously with a previous issue some time ago. I have already separated and renamed, turned off smart setup and tried connecting the 2.4ghz and 5ghz, as the former has a better range presumably.

I will try again with the static IP addresses tomorrow. A appreciate wired would be better but not a simple option I’m afraid.

I’d looked at the extenders, presumably I’d need two sets?

Would an alternate router be an option?

How close are the two rooms, as you could manage with just one set, and run an Ethernet cable between the rooms?

You cannot actually connect two sets to the home hub, however this set

Comes with two units, and my daughter uses them in her house.

They also have the advantage of giving extra wireless points for phone and tablets.

A later home hub is not going to be any better, and it may be worse. Its difficult to say whether a 3rd party router would be any better, as the HH4 is quite decent anyway.

I would opt for those hotspot units.

I see @licquorice has suggested the same, what better recommendation

You could get away with one, if the rooms are close, as they have two Ethernet ports. Hole in the wall maybe?

You can say Amazon, Argos, ebay or any other retailer. It is just links to them that you can not post on the forum..
