Scam call claiming to be from BT Openreach

Received landline call from 02084585544 today at 2.08 pm claiming to be from from BT Openreach. The caller had Asian accent and told me that error messages received indicated my broadband speed was lower than I was paying for. An obvious scam call which I discontinued when he asked me if I was near my router now. Have blocked number.

It would of been spoofed to falsify the presentation number, the scammers would be outside the UK but the fake number makes them appear in the UK.

You did the right thing hanging up and not gicing out info, you can also read more info about scam calls at Protecting you from scams
