Scam???

I've just had a phone call from 01159172655 saying there is a problem & BT need to check my broadband. Is this a scam?

Yes it is a scam.  BT will never cold call you about a problem with your line or broadband.

Had a call like that last week. They're a little bit more clued up now. When I said to him "that's interesting, I use Virgin" he said "ah but they use our servers" . Couldn't be bothered after that so just hung up.

Just keep in mind that BT will never make an unsolicited call you and advise you that you have any problems with your router or anything with your computer, nor will Microsoft or any reputable company. If you get any of these calls just hang up.

At any point, if there is any issue further you encounter, then we can be reached via chat helpdesk or you can dial us too.

I have the  same conversation but in email, in this email :  laina-finance.fi   I have received message where was saying that I have a problem and I need to provide info about my broadband, be careful.
