Hello,
Strange one here before we start, we have two broadband lines coming in to our property. One is mine with Sky the others is the mother in law who is on Utility Warehouse (Talktalk) and she has that broadband sent to her house wirelessly as she can't get broadband.
Since Utilitywarehouse are pretty pants and expensive we are looking to move the line to another broadband supplier, we tried to move it to Vodafone initially due to their very agressive pricing (Fibre,Unlimtied calls and divert for under £XX a month) and including everything we needed on the landline. Two attempts were made with VF but each time they were trying to take over my SKY line, (After the landline number was also checked).
Speaking with VF they have said there is a block on the line due to the UW line not showing on the Openreach database, they would then automatically try and take over the other line at the property (The SKY one) and then I would call sky and have it blocked.
I then thought this was VF being unable to process an order, so thought, I will go to BT/EE and try them, thinking they would have better luck being BT. Again same situation and they are trying to take over the SKY line...
Has anyone been in this situation and have a plan on how to get away from this company... We are happy with the sky line, we do not want to loose the landline number that is on the UW line. Sky and VF suggested we need to have a 3rd line installed to our property for the transfer and then explain to an engineer when they come out.. but that seems an issue there.
I thought last case we could move to Talktalk being that UW run from TT but ... we want someone better.
This is a BT Retail customer forum only, and has no connection with Openreach or any other provider. This forum can only help if you are a current BT Retail customer.
You would be better posting on one of the public ISP forums like
https://forums.thinkbroadband.com/
Or contacting a new provider, and asking them to takeover your service. There is never any guarantee you can keep your number, however if your number belongs to BT, and you are living at the same address, then you can usually keep your original number by moving back to BT Retail.
Thanks

You should be able to place an order to transfer your services to BT Retail. What error message do you get when you try to place an online order on this page?
There is no error, the order is processed and then blocked due to the attempt to take over the wrong phone line.
