Secondhand BT 4g mini hub

Hi,I have just got a deal for unlimited data sim  with calls and texts although only data will be used and was wondering if its possible to purchase a secondhand 4g minihub off well known site.Are they owner restricted as sent out for fault,how good are they and will they work when its not a data only sim.Are they preloaded for customers with broadband faults.

Thanks

You will probably find its locked to the BT Mobile network.

Thanks @Keith_Beddoe ,apologies it is actually a BT unlimited data calls and text sim forgot to say that in post.You think it should be ok and not specific to customer account if it was sent out to customer having broadband fault.

I would expect it to be fine, as it would have most likely been the SIM that was activated/de-activated as needed.

They can be purchased new, but if you are not paying too much for it, then its worth a try, as long as its not been blacklisted.

Good to know,thanks.Only worry now,you mentioned blacklisted.If its stated as being new would it be ok or what are the reasons for blacklisting.Are the hubs good or would it be safer going for aftermarket at higher cost.Its only for use in static caravan and camper.

@Beejay51

When I had a fault mine worked great, good WiFi signal and the battery is also pretty good.

I tested mine with an o2 Sim card and it was locked to BT Mobile. I haven't heard of any of the 4G mini hubs being blacklisted the same way BT Mobile do with stolen phones.

@SpiderPig

Thanks for that info,I will be using a BT sim so that should be fine,my only concern is that they are only available on data only sim deals up to 60GB and not for purchase on their own.That is why i thought they were maybe customer specific or locked to a persons account as BT seem to be able to activate/deactivate as the need arises.
