Selected account BT Mail Account unavailable

I set up a second email account for my daughter but she is getting "Selected account BT Mail Account unavailable" message pop up in the web mail and once "OK" is pressed nothing happens although the web mail is showing logged in. Also when trying to log out to try again the web mail does not respond at all so I have to close the browser and try again after an hours or so but with no success and same error.

 

Anybody got ideas what the problem might be?

 

Her other email address works fine.

 

(We are on BT Mail not Yahoo)

Hi,

 

Agree, from 14:00 onwards, logging into webmail, firefox states :

 

"Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete."

 

It was ok earlier this morning.

I think mine is a differnet problem. The new email account for my daughter was created recently also her mobile device also does not work, I think it says "Server not found".

Besides all existing BT email accounts works.

Did you "gift" the email account to your daughter or do you still have control over it? If you did not gift it to her have you tried gaining acess to it via your MyBT > Manage BTMail

Thanks for the links gg.

No I did not gift the email and I have the control over it.

 

When I set up the email I followed the instructions as in the links you provided but like I said, it allows me to log in but then I get the error message "Selected account BT Mail Account Unavailable" and the mail just "locks" (unresponsive). It will not even allow me to log out.

I have tried to delete the account totally through MyBT but that does not work either.

 

So I'm we are stuck with an email account that does not work.

I have notified the moderators of the forum about your problem. Once they have read this they may be able to help. They are a BT UK based team and if they can help they will reply via this thread asking you to contact them via a link. They are very busy at present so once you have replied to them by the link, it can take over 48 hours for them to re-contact you.

Hi @Dippu,

 

That usually means the mailbox isn't currently linked to the email address. Basically, it has been disabled in error. We'll get it looked into for you and ask that it's enabled again. You can reach us by clicking on my user name and then on contact the mods. It'll take us a bit of time before we can pick it up but we'll know what to do when we get it.
