Can you believe the audacity of BT - I recently raised a complaint with them several times- when using webmail you're not able to load contacts from the contact list onto the 'TO' and 'CC' address lines by ticking those that I want to send the email to then clicking 'add'. I've had several 'phone calls from India and each time I explain it all including my full name and account No. They then tell me the "Engineers are working on it" but 3 weeks have passed and it still has not been fixed and yet I've had 3 emails since saying they are closing the complaint - how can they possibly close the complaint when they have not fixed the problem ? So, I just raise the complaint yet again.
I know you can type the first few letters on the line and a 'drop down' shows with the alternatives but if you are sending the email to 20 or more people in a group this is just not acceptable.
I surely can't be the only one having this problem can I ? For goodness sake BT PLEASE revert to the original format, this new format is an unmitigated disaster, what with the above problem and the problem with 'copying and pasting' when composing, all of which was fine until they changed the format.
As per the link

I posted on your previous thread about this problem, the moderator replied in message 17 "The email team have confirmed that this issue has been identified as a bug and we are currently working on a solution. I don't have a timescale to share with you today but we will update this thread once we know when a fix will be rolled out."
So it would appear that the problem will be resolved at some point.
As regards rolling back to the "original" format, I doubt that that ever will happen.
It may be that you should consider using an email client such as Thunderbird, Outlook or the Windows 10 email app.
If you were to do that you would have none of the problems you have found with the BTMail webpage user interface as well as having no adverts and the user interface being the same regardless of what BT do to their web page.
I have no need to use this myself but I have found if you tick the contacts you want and go to "more" at the top of the page you can click on "send e-mail" and it puts all your selected contacts in the "to" box.

Another good work around. Just to clarify, it requires you to go to your contacts list first then select "more" etc, it doesn't work if you select "compose" first.
Dear gg30340,
Many thanks for your reply.
The reason why I use webmail is because I need easy access to my emails, contact list, and all the various folders on my I Pad when away on my frequent trips. I'm reasonably 'tech savvy' but I'm not sure how I would do this using an email client as you suggest.
I'll have to try that other 'workaround' suggested but not sure if it will work when actually replying to or forwarding an email rather than composing a new one.
Given that BT claim that they have recognised the problem and are currently working on a solution, it beggars belief that they deem it acceptable to just close my complaint.
If you are using an iPad you will all ready have an email client app installed on your device. I don't use an iPad but I think you will fine the app is called Mail or something similar.
If you set it up as an IMAP account it will replicate and synchronise everything that you do on your iPad with your webmail that you use on your computer and visa versa.
You may have to import your contacts list but that is fairly easy to do and is a "one off" operation.
See links about setting up an email client/app. If you are confident enough to enter the relevant settings, you should do it manually rather than using the automatic set up as it can occasionally use the wrong settings. If you are not confident to do it that way use the automatic set up which 99% of the time should work but if not post back for assistance.

I don't know if you have already sorted out this problem but if you click on the word "to" or "cc" you can add names from your contact list using the normal selection methods.

When the OP first posted there was a problem and it was not working in they way you have suggested however the problem has now been fixed a while back and it will work as described.
