Hi all,
I would like to replace the BT SMart Hub with the Linksys WRT3200ACM router due to it's coverage and speed superiortity. I have not been able ot find how I can do that. I believe I have a modem on the wall already from which an RJ45 comes into the Smart Hub.
I'd be grateful if you can point me in the right direction / guidance / walkthrough on how I can set this up please?
Many thanks in advance
Lisa

Just connect the modem to the WAN port on the Linksys and then run any quick setup wizard it has. The only settings you will require are the username homehub@btbroadband.com and password BT. If the Linksys doesn't have a wizard and you need manual settings they are additionally to above PPPoE and VLAN id 101 in the appropriate places.
Rather confused as there is no quick setup wizard on the router.
Do you mean use the same username/password on the PPPoE and VLAN sections of the router?
Crikey, my last reply was 7 months ago.
What I meant was that the username is bthomehub@btbroadband.com and password bt and in the absence of a wizard you might need to make other settings such as PPPoE as opposed to PPPoA and set the VLAN to 101.

Could it be that he has exceptionally slow broadband connection !
lol 🙂 🙂 Oh wait ... its slowed down again...see you in 7 months again
Did you get it sorted?
Hello i use a WRT1900ACS with DD-WRT plus a DrayTek Vigor 130
Once you have loaded DD-WRT click the Setup Tab at the top of page and change Connection Type to PPPoE and Username to bthomehub@btbroadband.com, Password to anything then scroll down to the bottom of the page and apply
Then go to Wireless Tab and Basic Settings see my settings below then Wireless Security and also see my settings which should work ok plus add your WiFi password to WPA Shared Key ps i think the WRT3200 also has an extra WiFi other than 2.4 and 5ghz but you can leave as it is as think its used for radar detection
