Hello.

I'm trying to set up a LAN web cam on my bt home hub 2, so we can keep any eye on the dogs when we are out.

I can see the cam when I'm on the home wifi network. But just cant get how to set up port forwarding. I set up a dyndns acc, hope  someone help.

Re: Setting up port forwarding home hub 2

This link may help. http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/BT/BTHomeHub/default.htm

I would recommend that you avoid port 80 for your camera and use port 8081 for example. Also it helps if the camera will allow you to set up a static IP address like 192.168.1.50, as it make port forwarding more reliable. You can create an application for port 8081 and call it webcam.

e.g.

IP address 192.168.1.50

Subnet mask 255.255.255.0

Default gateway 192.168.1.254

You will be able to see you camera by typing 192.168.1.50:8081 into your web browser.

From the Internet it would be http://yourhost.dyndns.org:8081  or whatever host you created at DynDns.

Remember to setup the hub so that your IP address is updated.

You can check to see if your port is open by going to http://www.canyouseeme.org/
