Several resyncs , varying connection speed

Hi there,

Infinity 2 customer for 3 or 4 years now, no real issues.

Always synced around 6.6db and around 75000 downstream for the first few years. With the recent July firmware update, the noise downstream dropped to 6.0 on connection and then down to around 5.6db after a couple of days, with a small increase in sync to around 78500.

A few days ago, I noticed an increase in the maximum data rate, and yesterday the max data rate was at 83000. Around 2pm, the router synced at 79995, which I believe is the maximum connection for infinity two. However, around half an hour later, the router resynced again at 72000, which was a big dip. Both times, the noise and maximum data rate where pinging up and down a lot. Tried a couple of router reboots and it still synced at the lower value. Again, after another half hour or so, it resynced at the higher speed again, and the maximum data rate and noise seemed to settle down to 83000 and 6.6 db.

At some point in the evening, the maximum rate dropped back to about 78500. Did another router reboot and it resynced at 78300, which was pretty normal. All seemed fine last night, and when I woke up at 6 this morning it had remained the same overnight.

At around 6.25, it resynced itself again, this time the maximum data increased back over 80000, but as you can see it has synced at 68000 (have just done aother reboot to check resync value)

I had a few issues (with another service, not my broadband) on Sunday, which nessecitated a few router resets - I'm guessing a few router resets then and yesterday might have introduced DLM on the line?.

But can anyone suggest what was happening yesterday with the resyncs at the higher then lower speed?

Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions.

Re: Several resyncs , varying connection speed

Finally, the results from the wholesale speed test. Upload seems quite low, can easily get to high 18 Mbps using speedtest.net, but the download seems consistent on both sites.
