Re: Shocking speeds since I signed up

Hi Guys,

At the moment I cant do a full test as I'm working away at the moment and the other half only has a Mac.

The line dropping out is something I have just discovered tbh.

The connection is currently plugged into the master socket. There should be no need to go into the test socket as far as i can see as this is the only socket in the house.

Speedsare still running slow. If the speed has been exagerated, then I will be even more hacked off.

Any suggestions for what could be causing the drop outs?

Thanks

Re: Shocking speeds since I signed up

it would help if the test socket is used as there have been a few posts recently that have found faulty faceplates the drop outs are most likely being caused by noise on the line worth trying the quiet line test dial 17070 option 2 there should be no noise heard any noise that is heard needs reporting to BT faults on 151 but do not mention broadband in the call

Ok, Here are my stats when plugged into the test port.

All other factors remain the same, same filters, cables etc.

Just to note, the connection does appear to be more stable and has remained connected longer.

Re: Shocking speeds since I signed up

these stats look far better with your connection speed up to 2156 from 768 in first set of stats and in addition noise margin is higher at 13.2 giving more scope to increase your conenction speed.

now need to remain in the test socket 24/7 for 3+ days and then post stats back to show the stable conenction and then get mods to reset your noise margin back to 6db which should increase your conenction speed nearer to that expected for your attenuation

Re: Shocking speeds since I signed up

yes just remain stable connection with no restarts then post back the latest hubstats then you can get mods help to reset noise margin which will improve your connection speed

Re: Shocking speeds since I signed up

Thanks for getting back guys.

I still have an issue with the connection dropping out even though im connected to the test socket..

I have yet to see a connection time over 6 hours.

With my signal now looking better, is it safe to assume a faulty face plate? If so should BT/Openreach replace this as it was only fitted a week ago.

Since these stats were posted, my speed has dropped. I assume this is down to the line beating with the router stabalizing?

What do i do if my line keeps dropping?

Re: Shocking speeds since I signed up

post back your hub stats later so we can see any changes
are you referring to connection sped or download speed when you say your speed has dropped
