Re: Sick of BT's constant lies!!!

Quoted from MBR123,

"I am paying for option 2 not 1, dont know what is going on with the 40/10 thing"

The reason you are getting the 40/10 result in your diagnostic report is because even though you state you are on an 80/20 package you have somhow been put onto a 40/10 package in error.

So there are only 2 ways to solve this.

1)Ring the sales options section and try to have your payments reduced to that package.

2)If you are sure that your line can support it try to get your profile increased into the 80/20 bracket, but judging by your reports your line does not seem capable of supporting Infinity 2 80/20.

In effect you should not have been charged for 80/20 in the first place if your line has never been fast enough to support it.

Has your upload profile ever shown as a 20Mbps profile,?, if not then it has always been at 10Mbps.

Re: Sick of BT's constant lies!!!

I think you will find no mistake has been made this seems to be ISP practice. If wholesale estimate you getting 35mbps they will put you on 40mbps even though you request 80mbps (after all it is an estimate atleast thats what bt told me when speeds where low!) to get the fastest speed but the ISP will just put you on a package that they deem as being full speed. A hacked modem shows all! Had to give my ISP a talking to for this practice, they did then put me on the package that i was paying for in the first place! I don't think you will get much help from india though, just glad my ISP and support are in the UK 5min phone call switched profile 24hours later 😉

Re: Sick of BT's constant lies!!!

I agree Enigma123,but in this case it looks like the line has never been capable of supporting Infinity 2 80/20, so Inifinity 1 40/10 should have been installed and charged for at day one.

If the customer asked for the 80/20 package though I guess BT are going to install that package even knowing that it was not going to work at those speeds or anywhere near.

Re: Sick of BT's constant lies!!!

If i remember correctly the older infinity contracts were
40 /10 40 gb usage limit 80/20 unlimited whereas the new contracts both have unlimited packages no ,therefore if on an older contract you would have had to sign up to the 80/20 speed to have obtained an unlimited package even if the line would not support it

Re: Sick of BT's constant lies!!!

True John,I forgot that,in fact I never recontracted so even though I am on the 80/20 Unlimited package I am still throttled for P2P,but never use it.

And I was on the 40/10 Unlimited package up to April 2012,then it was ungraded free to 80/20 Unlimited under a new 18 month contract.

Would the OP's IP profile not show that if he was on 80/20. The OP's profile is for Infinity 1.

Re: Sick of BT's constant lies!!!

I have had an idea, I am going to ask the nearest Openreach van near my area to do a DLM reset, see what he says, next time I see one close, which could be a while round here!. Its a plan? I will get on to the package change but I am a little bit worried of changing then being dropped to the estimates I am given now, cause of the history. But thanks for the replys everyone, good help here and yes I was been sarcy but I have was just having a bad day so dont take any notice. 😉
