Re: Sick of BT's constant lies!!!

MBR123,

On Infinity 2 [80/20] your upload line profile should always read as 20Mbps,but as yours is reading 10Mbps you are on an Infinity 1 [40/10] package.

Your line profile reading are still a bit low for 40/10 but that depends on your distance from the cab and quality of the line.

But you say you are on the 76/20 package,if that is the case then you have been put on the 40/10 package and should be paying for an Infinity 1 package.

Note: Sorry, I posted this without reading the latest posts,my bad.:(

Re: Sick of BT's constant lies!!!

BT India have just sent this through by email again for about the 3rd time:-

Sorry about the trouble you are experiencing with the BT Infinity Broadband Connection as the connection speed is too slow and is dropping as well. I will make sure that I provide you with the complete assistance required to fix this issue.

After performing tests from the Exchange to your property, I found that the promised speed (I pay up to 76/20 on Option 2, not a promised speed, since when do you pay for up to your promised speed?, if that was the case then when you take the package out it should say your promised speed not 76Mb Download Speed & 19Mb Upload Speed Package)

18-Oct-13 6-56-50 PM.png

at the point of sale is 19.30mbps and the speed from the exchange to your property at present is 22.80mbps. There is no problem in the connection speed and the connection rate from the exchange to your property.

I would recommend you to perform some checks with the sockets, set up, wireless settings on the hub, computer's network/ wireless settings ....

1. The Openreach modem must be connected to the main telephone socket without a filter as the filter is inbuilt on your main telephone socket.

2. All the sockets except the main telephone must be filtered with an ADSL filter.

3. Reset the Openreach modem by pressing and holding the reset button on the bottom or side of the Openreach modem till all the lights go blank and once the lights turn on green, press and hold the reset pinhole on the BT Hub with a paper clip for 20seconds once the light turn on blue.

4. Try connecting one of computers directly to the BT Hub using an ethernet cable and run a speed test on www.speedtest.btwholesale.com and check the speed.

5. Once you get the speed results press on the further diagnostics button on the same window and enter your telephone number to send the test results to the BT Server.

6. Make sure that all the Electronic or Electrical devices are placed atleast 3 to 4 yards away from the Hub to avoid interference to the wireless signals from the Hub to the wireless devices.

Thank you for contacting BT Broadband Technical Helpdesk,

Best Wishes

Are they completly stupid??? I have told them a dozen times about my issue and they come back with the same responses as if I am a dummy and dont know what I am doing. My speeds were at 26.9 and 2.90 up, I want the connection back how it was before no restricitons, they know they have put restricitons on the line so it looks better for themwith there estimates but they are trying to make major excuses, in fact when I took out the package I was expecting 76MB Down and 19MB Up, I did not know nothing about any estimates I was not told nothing aabout estimates when I was ordering on the phone!!!. If tthey dont sort the issue out Im off after the contract has finished. To think I spend ages on the forum helping newbies out and this is what you get when you need some help yourself!. 😞

Re: Sick of BT's constant lies!!!

I agree MBR123,I sometimes wonder why we bother trying to help others too,as we just get ignored or patronised if we have a problem.

Re: Sick of BT's constant lies!!!

@RobbieMac. Did you manage to look at my connection becuase BT keep coming back with the same answer and I am sick of the same thing. All I want is a DLM rest and any cap taking of my line I want up to what I pay for not what BT say I should have. I dont care the fact it is above the sillly estimate its the fact BT are capping it to a certain speed and think just because its above there estimate I should be happy. If my line is capable of alot more than the estimate then they should let it run at its max IP Profile, I pay for up to 76/20MB then so why should I be restricted!. Anyway for that fact, I am paying for 76/20 Option 2 package and my diagnostic checks say I am on 40/10 so I am being robbed by BT for a start, I need this sorting!.

Just for record I have just done another reset now for the 13 time and its come again 22.59MB Down, its always between the mark of 22.54 - 22.75MB Max IP Proflie and no more, Im sorry but if there is not a capp on my line then I must be some sort of MUG!!!. There is no way in a million years everytime you did a full reset it would hit 22.54 - 22.75MB Max IP Profile, unless there was some sort of cap in place!.

Test just took to show:-

Re: Sick of BT's constant lies!!!

No, it has not at the moment its reporting 21.8MB Down, actually slower than the HH3/4 results but it does say leave for 12 days to settle on line, I dont really expect an increase but the point is everything is running alot quicker/smoother, pages are loading alot faster and Consoles better and pings etc.. so the whole general exeprinece is really good, so I am not to concerned at the moment with the speeds, look if they go up, they go up, great!. But at this time I cannot see my going on  and on about it is going to do anything as I have found out but a little down on the P2P speeds is not going to bother me too much but I promise, I will report back a result in the 12 days+ just to confirm the thread, that was what I was waiting for.

You are not ignored or patronised, You yourself stated that you did not need an engineer out for your problem and for mods not to send one. You laid down the conditions you live with the result!

The OP is on Infinity 1 with an estimate of around 19mbps and is getting a speed in the 20's what's the problem???
