Re: Slow Broadband Speed.

What does it take for an engineer to get involved in this problem? Just curious.

Re: Slow Broadband Speed.

if your btspeedtest results show spe is ok at offpeak time and dropping at peak times then if it is dropping below the shown acceptablelimit then you can contact the mods who will report the problem to wholesale.  the problem will be at the exchnage and not your home if it is congestion

Re: Slow Broadband Speed.

Another poor speed test.....

Download speedachieved during the test was - 326 Kbps For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600-7150 Kbps. Additional Information: Your DSL Connection Rate :6080 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM) IP Profile for your line is - 5000 Kbps

As long as I can get the speeds up to within the acceptable limit during peak times I'd be happy!

Re: Slow Broadband Speed.

looks very much like congestion from that result suggest you contact the mods and ask them to investigate for you this is a link to them
http://bt.custhelp.com/app/contact_email/c/4951
they normally reply by email or phone directly to you within 72 hours

They are a UK based BT specialist team who have a good record at getting problems solved

Re: Slow Broadband Speed.

Should I just direct them to this thread where they can see the issue? Or do I need to describe it from scratch to them...?

Re: Slow Broadband Speed.

Ok done that, hopefully this can get resolved soon! I'll be moving to my next base in April, if they can't get this sorted sometime before then, then I'm afraid I'll go with another ISP.

Re: Slow Broadband Speed.

Yeah I understand that, it's more the ISP's ability to resolve a problem within a reasonable amount of time that's the issue.

Doesn't help when they say they will call you at a certain time, you change your personal arrangements so that you can be free at that time, and then you receive no phone call...
