Hello,
I posted a few months ago about having slow download speeds and was told to contact a BT Mod, I think they reset my IP profile, which didn't actually help with my issue. I decided to just give up and live with the slow speeds, but now it's starting to annoy me again.
I was told to keep my router on 24/7, which I have done and it's been on for about 13 days without any interruptions now, but my speed doesn't increase at all.
I have a BT HomeHub2, I've dialled 1470 17070 and selected option 2, but I hear absolutely nothing. No crackling, no hissing sounds, I have the BT Unlimited package, not infinity, I have an older master socket and my connection is wired.
I'm just annoyed because the download speed is slow as hell for downloading games on Steam / streaming on Netlifx... I remember back to last year/January when I was able to get 1.1Mb/s while downloading a game on Steam, now it struggles to go above 600 kb/s.
Why does my download speed suck? I've had my profile reset, my router has been connected for 13 days, my connection is wired and this is the only device using it and that fact that I KNOW it can be higher and I'm paying higher for a slower speed, to me that seems unfair.
My connection information:
Download Speed (Mbps): 6.20
Upload Speed (Mbps): 0.97
Ping Latency(ms): 38.88
Line state Connected
Connection time 12 days, 17:42:56

Output power (Down/Up) 0.0 dBm / 12.6 dBm
Loss of Framing (Local) 0
Loss of Signal (Local) 4
Loss of Power (Local) 0
FEC Errors (Down/Up) 2230251801 / 4294966997

with your attenuation I would hope for about 13mb on a good line with no noise problems.
your conenction has been stable for 12+ days but speed has remained constant with higher than normal noise margin.
I think you are stuck in a banded profile due to the previous history of dropping connection even though your noise margin is not at 15db.
As you have posted your stats showing stable then I would contact the mods for assistance. I would try 1 reset about lunchtime tomorrow when noise margi at highest and see if that will help your connection. if not then mod will help
Thanks for the quick replies, how would I go about fixing this? I'm getting tired of downloading on half the speed I used to as it takes alot longer than it should.
as I suggested now you have shown stable connection try 1 reset tomorrow and if speed comes back the same tghen contact the mods for help
can take up to 3 working days for mods to contact you
Will do.
