Slow Speed :(

I've recently moved into a new build house on a new estate, ive had BT broadband installed with an estimated speed of between 1mb-3.5mb but ever since it has gone live the speed has been terrible, im getting a link speed of 244kbps.

I understand the speeds are estimates but from my line lengh i should be getting at least 1mb id of though. is there anything you can do to help.

The below was tested in an extension socket but speeds were just the same in the master when it first went live. and connected directly to the HUB with an ethernet cable.

Or one of these

Re: Slow Speed :(

you have a very high number of errors on your line they need resolving to start with

have you tried the quiet line line test dial 17070 option 2
you should hear no noise at all also have you tried connecting to the test socket at the rear of the lower removable plate  Test Socket.jpg

Re: Slow Speed :(

can you connect to the master or better the test socket unless your master is outside like this external_NTE_1.png

if it is can you connect to the first socket in your home where BT wires enter and then post new stats

Re: Slow Speed :(

i knew i was never going to get lightning fast speeds but one of my colleagues whos line attenuation is alot bigger than mine and around the same noise gets 2mb which is really frustrating.

Re: Slow Speed :(

once you get to those attenuation figures are unreliable on routers as most firmware is only accurate up to about 63.5db so in most cases attenuation can and often is higher than reported so reducing connection speeds further

Re: Slow Speed :(

is there anything that can be done, it is still clocking up errors and the sync speed is decreasing.
