Good evening!
So, I have absolutely no quibbles with BT at all, besides this niggly slow upload speed. Now, I can't complain too much as my download speed is phenomenal. However, my upload speed is pretty dire - considering it's 2018 and video/streaming is a thing.
I've done all of the numpty Live Chat troubleshooting in the past week i.e. resetting the router for a bit but this has been of little use.
We have FTTC/Infinity and a filtered master socket FYI. I'd really like to know why the upload speed is so slow; why is the noise margin that high and why am I so far off the achievable upload speed proposed?
enter your phone number and post results remember delete number http://dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/adslchecker.welcome
the bt username is same for all so deleting was not necessary
Thanks, imjolly.
Here it is!
I see you are on a filtered master socket but have you tried using the test socket with a filter to see if that improves your connection by eliminating your internal wiring this may help find test socket

also try quiet line test dial 17070 option 2 should be quiet and best with corded phone
imjolly,
I've managed to give this a go this afternoon. The results are exactly the same, see below.
Definitely looks like a problem beyond the house, unfortunately.
Any other ideas?
All the best.
hqve you checked for any noise on your line? dial 17070 option 2 should be quiet and best with corded phone
Yep, imjolly, tried this and it's absolutely flawless. Zero crackling at all and, trust me, we've had a shoddy line in the past!
Reading this and getting quite envious: https://community.bt.com/t5/BT-Infinity-Fibre-broadband/Infinity-upload-speed-capped-at-1Mbps/td-p/1...
Additionally, FWIW, each time I speak with BT using the Chat Now option, they always say that they can see "an issue on the line". It never gets further than this, they say that they're running tests at their end before saying that the "upload speed is not guaranteed". This must have happened 4 or 5 times now.
