More curious than anything
My Wi-fi download has dropped dramatically but the upload is fine. In addition, I cannot connect to the bt Wi-fi fon which is available via a neighbour. I have been able to in the past and was going to today to see how the download would work on it.
It’s not a major problem. I am getting over 7 (was 50) which is more than adequate for my needs. I surf the net, use emails, download box sets from Sky and watch the occasional programme on my IPad. All these seem to be working fine.
Indeed had I not done a speed test today (I was idling the morning away) I probably wouldn’t have noticed!
I have an HH3, only use an IPad (laptop is pretty much dead) and there is only me in the house.
I wondered as I couldn’t connect to the Fon if it was a BT issue but there seem to be no BT service problems in my area
Solved! Go to Solution.
I can’t remember but I don’t think so! I’ve had it a fair old time, though. It doesn’t give me a hint which I think I would have set up if I had changed it
I’ve tried the default one on the router. Looks like I’ll maybe have to try the password override. I’ll do that over the Xmas period when it’s lighter and I have a bit of time - and haven’t had a glass of wine!!
Is that likely to cure the issue?
Thanks for the help, Keith
All you could do, would be to factory reset it, then use the default admin password that came with the home hub.
Changing the wireless channel is likely to solve the problem. Try channel 13, as that is usually free of interference.
Wine or no wine I did a factory reset. I didn’t need to change the wireless channel as the reset, itself, pushed the download above 40.
The BT Fon seems to have disappeared
It probably just the home hub getting a bit clogged up, and needing a clear out of the configuration file.
