Slow broadband for 8 days

I have an open fault registered with BT about the slow broadband speed I've had( best speed 0.24 kbps, usual speed about 1.2Mb) for the last 8 days.  After the usual checks as directed by the call centre i.e. try the test socket, unplug all extensions, try the quiet line test I was told to wait for an answer while other checks were made.

Checking my fault on the bt website, no further communication has been forthcoming from BT.

So I left my router plugged in as always while I was away working for 4 days, came back and checked the speed again last night.  Again 0.24 kbps according to the bt speed test.

In case it was down to not being used I started to download a large file and left it running overnight.  There was no improvement in speed though it's sticking resolutely to 0.24 kbps.

Can I get some help?

Re: Slow broadband for 8 days

your connection time is just over an hour was that a manual reset or router dropping conenction?

at present you are in a banded profile due to all the resets and you need to maintan a stable connection 24/7 for 3/5 days and banding should release automatically   if you get 3+ days stable then repost your router stats and mods may help  http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/speed_guide/broadband_terminology.shtml
