Re: Slow broadband on the Smallbrook exchange.

How long does it take to replace MUXs at an exchange? Because if they can't be bothered to hurry up I'll do it myself...

Re: Slow broadband on the Smallbrook exchange.

Apparantly they promise to do it by the end of the month; they say the equipment is already here, but they are waiting for someone to fit it...

Unfortunately they also told me they are aware of another 'Type A' Fault (whatever that is) which may prevent them from doing so 😞

Re: Slow broadband on the Smallbrook exchange.

Ahh the Type A fault! Don't worry then, when they fix that the Type B fault will show up at the end of the month, then Type C...

We should see an increase in Sept 2011 when they install fibre...or the Type Z fault.

Re: Slow broadband on the Smallbrook exchange.

As far as I know (I'm not entirely sure) replacing an MUX/DSLAM can take a while because BT will have to configure it & plug everything in (There can be an awful lot to do if its going to be full). If its already there and hasn't been fitted yet, they may be waiting for someone from BTw to come and do the job as it will need to be connected to the part of BT's network which BTw are incharge of - Not Openreach.

I hope i've got all that correct Smiley Very Happy

Re: Slow broadband on the Smallbrook exchange.

I'm so angry!!

BT phoned me today and told me that "BT Wholesale have reported no more problems on this exchange". They told me everything should be fine now and it's working properly.

That means I have to start all over again to get it investigated. Smiley Mad

Does anyone else still have slow speeds?

Look at my lightning speeds:

Time: 14.55

Download speedachieved during the test was - 559 Kbps

For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600-7150 Kbps.

 Additional Information:

 Your DSL Connection Rate :8128 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)

IP Profile for your line is - 7150 Kbps

Re: Slow broadband on the Smallbrook exchange.

That's taking the p***, what do I have to do now? What happens if we launch a combined complaint, rather than individual ones which they can ignore would they pull their fingers out? I"m gonna have a look at the watchdog website now...

Re: Slow broadband on the Smallbrook exchange.

OK that's the first time I've complained to BBC watchdog... I suggest everyone else do so too in order to show BT's negligence on the programme.

Re: Slow broadband on the Smallbrook exchange.

Hi guys,

I can check on my end the status of these faults, if you can send your forum username and BT account details to the email address registered against my profile I'll get back to you.

Thanks,
