I have had BT broadband for a little over a month now. For the first three weeks I enjoyed a consistent speed of 18mb. Then I switched off the Hub when I went on holiday. On return (6th June), I had a significantly reduced speed under 1mb and this has remained the same over the weekend and Monday.

22:55:32, 08 Jun. ( 90.530000) DSL line rate: 1090 Kbps upstream, 286 Kbps downstream
BT speed test: dl 0.24; ul 0.77; ping 35.13
Quiet test - ok
No other devices attached.
Is three days enough time, or should I wait a few more days?
Solved! Go to Solution.
your connection reset last night at 22.55 was that a manual reset or router dropping connection
you currently are in a banded profile either due to to many manual resets or router dropping conenction or a combination of both. you now need a stable connection for 3/5 days for banding to release and your speed to stat to return to normal
if you can get 3+ days conenction time then repost the stats (if stable then the 2 line you posted will be the last you can find) and then we can see if mods can help
check quiet line test for any noise dial 17070 option 2 should be quiet and best with corded phone http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/speed_guide/broadband_terminology.shtml
Thank you for your reply.
The reset was manual. I think I did that twice on the same day.
Will report back in 3/5 days. Thanks for the advice.
After 4 days stable connection, wallowing under 1mb, I can now report on two things that happened yesterday (13th June). Line connection reset to 0 automatically, and speed shot up to 14.33mb. Not quite the 18mb I started off with, but I was delighted to see 14.33mb. I can live with that.
Here are the stats gathered today:
Connection time: 1 days, 05:44:56 : Downstream: 15.87 Mbps: Upstream: 1.08 Mbps
BT Speed test: dl 14.33; ul 0.90; ping 33.13
10:10:32, 13 Jun. (382565.670000) DSL noise margin: 6.00 dB upstream, 13.90 dB downstream
10:10:32, 13 Jun. (382564.980000) DSL line rate: 1106 Kbps upstream, 16253 Kbps downstream
Quiet line test - ok, silent
Do these stats look good to you?
Huge improvement and if you maintain connection it will get better as your 13.9db noise margin drops to nearer normal 6db - just stay connected 24/7
