Slow broadband

Hello - my broadband speed has collapsed over the last two days and I wonder if anyone here might be able to help.

I have spoken to the people in India and I have had a visit from an engineer, who verified that there were no problems with the hub, lines, socket etc and was certain that there were no faults with the line as far as the exchange - running fine at 17 Mbps. Basically he had no idea what might be causing the problem.

BT speedtester now gives 1.94 download and 0.73 upload. Download speeds have been around 1-2 consistently for about 48 hours.

The Quiet Line test came out fine.

I have BT Hub 2 and ADSL stats as follows:

ADSL settings

VPI/VCI0/38
TypePPPoA
ModulationITU-T G.992.5
Latency typeInterleaved
Noise margin (Down/Up)6.1 dB / 15.1 dB
Line attenuation (Down/Up)27.0 dB / 13.5 dB
Output power (Down/Up)0.0 dBm / 12.6 dBm
Loss of Framing (Local)0
Loss of Signal (Local)0
Loss of Power (Local)0
FEC Errors (Down/Up)6236 / 4294967237
CRC Errors (Down/Up)27 / N/A
HEC Errors (Down/Up)N/A / 0
Error Seconds (Local)15

I'd be very grateful if anyone is able to help at all with this problem.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Slow broadband

Ethernet.

Definitely not a problem with my computer or with the hub, as the engineer checked with a different hub and his own computer.

PS thanks for replying so quickly!

Re: Slow broadband

It's never been a noticeable problem until the last 48 hours. It was very slow all yesterday morning + afternoon, and has been very slow all day today (8am to now).
