For the past 10 days or so our speed has been all over the place, best we can get is around 3mbs but it has been as low as 0.2mps. Even had problems loading some basic websites. I have done all the recommended tests re. sockets etc..
Would anyone care to look over the router data please..
Latest speed test from master socket is below, but this varies on an hourly basis and can be often under 1mps.
Line state Connected Connection time 7 days, 5:07:38
Downstream 7,616 Kbps
Upstream 448 Kbps
Modulation ITU-T G.992.1
Latency type Interleaved
Noise margin (Down/Up) 16.1 dB / 23.0 dB
Line attenuation (Down/Up) 16.0 dB / 11.0 dB
Output power (Down/Up) 19.8 dBm / 11.9 dBm
Can you run btspeedtester and when first test completes then run diagnostic test and post results.
Also check exchange for problems. http://usertools.plus.net/exchanges/mso.php
Diagnostic test results
Download speedachieved during the test was - 2.47 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 0.6 Mbps-7.15 Mbps.
Your DSL Connection Rate :7.62 Mbps(DOWN-STREAM), 0.45 Mbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 6.5 Mbps
There are no exchange problems for my area as far as I can see from those sites
Yor connection speed is good for adslmax and your profile is correct. Your download speed is on low side but still well above eholesale acceptable level of 0.6mb
was tes done wired or wireless?
Wired test, straight into the master socket. I have left it connected to that for a week now. The thing is the DL speed is up and down, the test results could be far worse or better if I run the test another time..
Thank you for your insight so far
Then run the diagnostic test when you feel at worst and post results Do you find it tends to be ok during the day and worse at night?
OK I shall do that. I am certain that there is no trend with the time of day, but again will keep an eye on it and post my findings over the next few days.
One last thing the extra detail in router settings i forgot to include in my earlier post. Not sure whether this means anything.
Loss of Framing (Local) 35
Loss of Signal (Local) 3
Loss of Power (Local) 0
FEC Errors (Down/Up) 325 / 0
CRC Errors (Down/Up) 1 / N/A
HEC Errors (Down/Up) N/A / 0
Error Seconds (Local) 4
If these stats go with the origial post with 7days connection time then they look really good with few errors
