It looks like BT Infinity is available on your cabinet, so if its more speed you need, then that might be worth considering.

Just looked and infinity wiould cost less than I am paying at the moment, so I think I wll go for the upgrade.

Still does not explain why the speeds droped so much on the existing connection a smentioned perviously it was always 6.8 Mps, so just wondering what might cause this. 

Is it simply a marketing ploy to get me on to infinity?

Absolutely not. It'll likely be an external fault, or an issue with the home wiring.

Have you tried connecting to the test socket?

According to the bt fault check it says fault is at the Bt retail server.

BTW its also said I would be contacted but I have had no responce from BT directly about it?

So I keep reading about waiting 10 days for speed to get back to normal, current WAN up time 96:23:50. do I simply wait till it hits 240:00:00 and hope that something improves?

I have spotted one thing, the line seems to drop once, either in the middle of the night or very early in the morning. It would be nice if this was the DLM sorting it self out but I won't hold my breath.
