Slow speed for the past week

Hey

 

Not sure why but I have been getting incredibly slow speeds in for just over a week now. I live alone so am the the user of the only PC / Laptop in the building. The slow speed is affecting both my PC which is wired and my Laptop which uses wireless.

The connection speeds are slow regardless of the time of day. Being someone who streams videos on Youtube or Iplayer often I now have to wait for even a 240p video to buffer before I can watch the video.

So far I have tried:

Using the test socket to see if that helped.

Changing WiFi channel and encryption from WEP to WPA.

Resetting the home hub to its default settings.

 

None of these attempts have been successful, if there is anything anyone can suggest to try, I would be grateful.

can you post the adsl stats from your router may need to 'show detail' to get all stats (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser and navigate to adsl or use a-z, if netgear enter 192.168.0.1) and run btspeedtester http://speedtester.bt.com and post the results.

I would reconnect to the test socket if you have extension phone sockets in your home as this will eliminate any noise caused by your internal wiring


Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone

Someone may then be able to offer help/assistance/suggestions to your problem

Thanks. Sent off a contact form to the mods. Something cant be right when your getting :

looks like an exchange problem with such a low throughput.

 

mods will get back to you but might take 2/3 days
