Smart Hub 2 - Changing the default WiFi password

Go to solution

I've just installed my new Smarthub 2 but cannot change the default Wireless Key. The system accepts the change but when I go back to it it's reverted to the default.  Any ideas what I'm doing wrong ?

Hi @froschling

Obviously a pure quess, but are you sure you have hit [Save]? Also are you making the change connected to the Hub by Ethernet cable. I don’t know if this helps but it makes sense changing wireless while connected by wireless may not be the best idea.

There is a bug with the Smart Hub 2 that lets you enter disallowed characters but doesn't tell you, it just refuses to save instead!!!

Thanks for your suggestions.

I connected via Ethernet and not only did I press SAVE but the hub confirmed it. Even so when I returned to the page the adult password/key was still there 😞

Ahh that's entirely possible as I was using some punctuation in the new password. A pity it doesn't reject it and tell you why ! Thanks for your suggestion. I'll bear it in mind when next I change the WiFi password.
