Smart Hub 2 and Belkin Plug

Go to solution

I've just installed the Smart Hub 2 and now my Belkin Wi Fi Extender won't work. (flashes orange).  I've tried factory resets for the plug but it still won't connect. Belkin have been unable to help and have advised I contact BT. The signal I'm getting from the new hub is appalling and keeps dropping out if I am more than 30 feet away from it. Suggestions please?

@LindaT

Try turning Smart Setup off.

If the Wifi Extender only works on the 2.4Ghz wifi band, then you may have to temporarily disable the 5GHz wireless on the smart hub 2, to allow it to connect.

See https://community.bt.com/t5/Home-setup-Wi-Fi-network/Modem-Replacement/m-p/1920570#M160104

If all else fails, revert back to using your old home hub.

Switch smart set up off  also if that does not work , As you are unable to split the bands on a Smart Hub2 , Try switching either 2.4GHz or 5GHz off and see if it connects, If it does then reconnect the band you switched off,  (Just an Idea)

Thanks Keith. I switched off the 5G and then reconnected and this seems to have solved the issue. Thanks for the good reply.
