Hi,
I have a BT smart hub 2 with a disc connected.
Disc status shows excellent . Disc is in same room as my Canon wi fi printer so assumed it would make its connection via disc. Checking on the app it shows printer though is connected with weak signal to Smart Hub.
Eventually got over this by powering off and on the printer and then saw printer on the disc connection list with strong signal.
Problem solved. No. Next day the printer was connected again to the Smart Hub 2 but with a weak signal again even though disc has an excellent connection to Hub and is less than 2 metres from printer.
Anyone know why this occurs . Have already turned smart setup to off.

Easiest way out if practicable is to connect an Ethernet cable from the disc to the printer
Would be easy to do that although thought the ethernet was just for setting up the disc initially.
Didn't realise use you use it as a port.
Will give it a go but would be nice to know why the printer doesn't stay connected to the disc wirelessly.
Let you know unless we get any other suggestions.
I've had a BT TV box running of the ethernet port of my black disc so I can assure 100% that it works.
I had a similar problem and overcame it but it was by guesswork so it may not work for everyone.
The way I did it was:-
Temporarily switch the hub Wi-Fi off and tell the device to forget it's Wi-Fi connection
Connect the disc to the hub by ethernet cable and get the device to learn its new connection
Turn the hub Wi-Fi back on and return the disc back to where you want it.
It worked for me but I give no guarantees
Think I will stick with the wi fi option at the moment.
Not that easy to connect ethernet cable and printer always works so will stay with it.
Just a bit strange it will not stay connected to the strongest signal
As an experiment I deleted the Disc and then added it again in same location.
The printer now stays connected to the Disc with a strong signal.
