I trialled a Smart Hub X in 2017/18 and it has been ok until this weekend. I could connect to Facebook and google for searches and also to email via yahoo and outlook. However could not load website, update apps, load apps etc. iPad mini seemed to offer local and internet on Wi-fi, but laptop connected by Ethernet showed local only. I have connected my original Hub 5 and this connects ok with full access. Tried test my speed via my but app but it is still suggesting I should wait 48hrs! So I do not know whether I will lose any speed or wi-ficonnectivity with hub5? Should ‘test my speed’ be operating by now(eastersunday midday)? I am on BT Infinity (bt plus) not ultrafast. Do people think my smart x is faulty or I should check something else? Thanks.
Solved! Go to Solution.
try a factory reset of the 'X' but pressing recessed button on back and hold until light flash then remember after reboot to turn of smart setup and split networks
try running btspeedtester http://www.speedtest.btwholesale.com/

Hi @walace58 Just curious, does it actually say Smart Hub X Manager at the top of the Smart Hub Manager?
@VeteranISPUser there was trial with a hh6X prior to SH
Don't know why anyone expects an ISP supplied router would be any good.
Thanks, will try when I am able to reinstall the smart x. One question, when I originally installed it I did not have to switch off smart setup and split n/w’s.
Thanks will check when I can reinstall, however I was expecting something like Hub 6x or similar when I looked on back of Hub from what I think I was seeing on Sunday!
Been ok since 2017 and the original Hub 5 retrieved from storage is still working!

You don't 'have' to switch off smart setup and split n/ws but it is extremely advisable to do so.
I jolly, ran speed test on Hub 5, get 30.56, 9.83, ping 83, think this is below what I was getting with ‘smart x’, so perhaps a little worse.
