Smart Hub drops after 30 minutes

Just had my second Smart Hub delivered but again the same problem as the first, namely 30 minutes after installing and all initially appearing ok, I now cannot get online on any device.

Yet my friend has got the same HH6 and has no problems whatsoever. Am I doing something stupid?

No, he got one from the good batch, you got two from the bad batch.

Re: Smart Hub drops after 30 minutes

Hub number 3 turned up. Ok for 3 hours then bricked.

There's no way I've ended up with 3 **bleep** hubs. Something must be going on. A simple change needed to the manager surely?

Have you not read all the horror stories about the HH6?

Oh yes! But my friend gets his first one working with no problem. I can't believe I've got 3 duds!

Re: Smart Hub drops after 30 minutes

See if you can persuade him to temporarily swap hubs with you and see if the fault follows the hub or the location.

Re: Smart Hub drops after 30 minutes

Though about that. But if I brick his, he and I will have a big problem...

I do have a theory that I came across on another post. When my hub was fine, it showed bt wifi status as 'not active'. Now I have the problem, it displays 'active' (ironic bearing in mind I cannot get online).

I have a feeling it is a simple change that I need to make to the hub manager settings, but god knows what it is! No obvious place to turn bt wifi off.

Re: Smart Hub drops after 30 minutes

Is the home hub connected to the Internet, is the light blue?

Can you access the Internet with an Ethernet connected device?

Perhaps your devices are trying to connect to BT Wifi, and not the normal home hub SSID?

Re: Smart Hub drops after 30 minutes

Hi Keith

Solid blue. No device connects whether through ethernet or wireless. The hub manager says it is connected to the broadband weirdly.
