Smart hub 2 and smart plugs

Go to solution

I changed to smart hub 2 and got all my devices working by turning 5ghz off then back on for other devices which can use 5ghz

i have Alexa setup and all working until i tried smart sockets, which i tried first at parents house using virgin router with split wifi, so i know sockets work with Alexa

but when i got home and setup they connect ok and can turn on/off using app but when i ask Alexa to turn on or off she says ok and nothing happens.

i am quite technical as an electrician tech but this is driving round the bend

Tried all that and tried setting up from scratch and set to group and checking router settings for anything i have missed but still Alexa won’t turn plug on or off even after saying ok. But will turn on/off if i click in app

it worked on another router no problems

Its probably best to go back to using the other router, as other people have reported similar problems with the smart hub 2.

Try it with the 5GHz wireless off all of the time, and see if it works.

Re: Smart hub 2 and smart plugs Fixed

I noticed that plugs connect to wifi on 2.4ghz and Alexa would say ok but nothing happened,

when i ask her to play a certain radio station she would mention my mothers Alexa name but its registered under mine, then i noticed home share and she was in that and when i turned her off everything worked

i am using smart life and hyleton plugs from Amazon
