Almost overnight, many of our smart devices stopped working. Hue, LIFX, Lightwave, and other devices won’t connect or talk to anything else.
We have an unusual network, using our smart hub as a router and modem. This goes into a switch, then out to some UniFi access points.
Internet in a browser works fine, however anything else doesn’t. We have been sent a replacement hub however the problem is still there.
Any ideas would be appreciated!
Try a factory reset of the hub, press the recessed button with a pin for about 20 seconds until the lights flash. Remember to disable Smart Setup again afterwards.
For the purposes of diagnostics have you tried taking your switch out the equation and connecting directly to the hub?
You mentioned your network being unusual, how many DHCP servers are on it?.
Most of the devices are connected to the Access points, however we do have a Lightwave hub that is connected directly over Ethernet into the BT hub and it has the same issue.
Yes. Phones, tablets etc do work, however some background apps (Dropbox etc) won’t connect. Internet only works via a browser.
I have a lightwave hub connected directly via Ethernet into the BT hub and it’s still not working.
We only have a BT hub, network switch (unmanaged) and 5 access points on the network. (Excluding devices iPads etc)
